Key Notes:
DIY Self-Assembly Kit: Designed for those with basic electronics skills—this product requires self-assembly. Includes cassette deck mechanism, pre-amp board, mono head (upgradeable to stereo), and all essential components for a functional unit. Note: Beginners may need soldering tools and multimeter.
Power & Playback: Runs on a simple 6V power transformer. Pre-amplified output connects directly to any external amplifier for rich stereo sound—output signal is line-level ready.
Recording: Recording features an erase head using a permanent magnet—no wiring required. To record: Connect your audio source and press Play + Record buttons simultaneously.
Head upgrade for Stereo: The mechanism is installed with a mono head and an additional Stereo head is supplied with this kit to upgrade to stereo version. Easy replacement instructions is down below.
Assembly Highlights & Head Replacement Guide:
This kit shines in its straightforward assembly, emphasizing precision for optimal performance. The power supply uses a 6V transformer, and output demands an amplifier connection for audible playback.
Head Replacement (Stereo):
Full Deck Removal Method: Remove four screws securing the cassette deck. Press Stop, open cassette door (deck can’t be removed without it).
Unscrew two button-securing screws on sides. Remove left head screw; loosen right screw (adjusts angle). Pull head left, install dual-channel head, solder wires, tighten/adjust right screw.
Pro Tip: After replacing the fitted mono head with the stereo head (Supplied in the kit), fine-tune head angle (via right screw or cassette door gap with small screwdriver) to avoid fuzzy playback, channel imbalance, or distortion. Always test post-install. Proper alignment ensures balanced left/right channels and crystal-clear reproduction.
